Private Cultural Experiences

A private tour of the Prado.

Two hours in the Prado Museum with a guide working for your party and nobody else. Twelve paintings chosen for who is travelling, and the reasons they matter.

Twelve paintings, not forty

The Prado holds more than anyone can look at in a morning, and most visits end up as a walk past the paintings everyone photographs. A private tour works the other way round. Before the date we ask who is coming, what they already know and what they would rather skip. The guide then builds the visit around a short list, usually around twelve paintings, and gives each one the time it needs: what you are looking at, why it was painted, and why it still matters. You leave having seen less and understood more.

  • A short list of paintings, chosen with you before the date
  • Tickets arranged in advance
  • A conversation before the date, not a form
  • Reconfirmation 72 hours before you arrive

  • The day and the hour
  • How many are in the party
  • Whether the entry tickets are inside the figure
  • Anything around the visit, such as lunch or a walk afterwards

How the visit runs

  1. 01

    Before the date

A short exchange by email: who is coming, which painters they already know, and what they would rather not spend the morning on. That is what the list is built from.

  2. 02

    Tickets and the hour

Tickets are arranged in advance and the hour is fixed in writing. You know exactly where the guide will be waiting.

  3. 03

    In the rooms

Two hours, at your pace. The list usually draws on the painters the Prado is known for, Velázquez, Goya, El Greco and Bosch among them, and the guide adjusts it as the morning goes: longer where you stop, shorter where you do not.

  4. 04

    Afterwards

The visit ends inside the museum. If you want a table for lunch, or an afternoon in the Barrio de las Letras across the Paseo del Prado, it can go into the same proposal.

Why private, in this museum

Your party only

No shared group and no headset tuned to somebody else’s guide. The guide works for you that morning, and the questions are yours.

A guide chosen for you

Historians and art specialists from a short list, not a roster. If the right one is not free on your date, we say so instead of sending someone else.

One person throughout

The same person answers your first message, writes the proposal, arranges the tickets and is reachable on the day of the visit.

Reconfirmed before you land

The hour, the meeting point and the tickets are reconfirmed 72 hours before you arrive in Madrid.

Before you write

How long is a private tour of the Prado?
Two hours. That is enough to stand properly in front of a dozen paintings and to leave before the museum starts to feel long. If your party wants a different length, say so in the enquiry and the proposal is written around it.
Which paintings will we see?
That depends on who is coming. Most lists start with Velázquez, Goya, El Greco and Bosch, because they are the core of the collection, and then move towards whatever your party responds to. The list is agreed before the date and can change in the room.
Is the tour really private?
Yes. The guide works for your party and nobody else that morning. There are no fixed departures and no strangers joining the group.
Are the entry tickets included?
We arrange them in advance, for your day and your hour. Whether the entry is inside the figure or listed separately is set out in the written proposal, before you commit to anything.
We have been to the Prado before. Is this still for us?
Often more so. Tell us what you saw last time and the list starts where that visit ended: other rooms, other painters, or the same paintings looked at properly.
When is a good time to go?
Weekday mornings, where the dates allow. The exact hour is fixed in the written proposal and reconfirmed 72 hours before you arrive.
How much does a private Prado tour cost?
It is quoted for your party rather than listed: the day, the hour, how many of you there are and what goes around the visit. Write with the dates and the size of the party and the figure comes back in writing.

Tell us who is coming to the Prado.

The dates, the size of the party and what they already know about painting. You will have a written reply within 24 hours.
